Joe Root:

Joe Root was a class above his team-mates, and every other batsman in the tournament barring Kohli. He never had to resort to slogging, and ended up with 249 runs at an average of 49.80 and a strike rate of 146.47. It was his knock of 83 off 44 balls that gave England the self-belief they were seeking after a defeat against West Indies in the opening match. He was brilliant in the final and rescued his team with a 54 off 36 balls. He took two wickets as well and proved his off-spinning skills.
