Top 7 Bowlers who have dismissed most batsmen in ODIs

Here we enlist the bowlers who have dismissed the most number of different batsmen in their career (minimum 200 wickets). This is not your usual list with the leading wicket-takers, but the one which counts a particular batsman as one unit and the total number that appears along with the name of the bowler is the number of different batsmen they have dismissed in one-day international cricket. 7. He was not fiercely quick but was very accurate and could seam and swing the ball nicely. Vaas has exactly 400 wickets in 322 ODIs which include a hat-trick off the first three balls of a match in the 2003 World Cup. He managed to dismiss 200 different batsmen in his career. 6. Shaun Pollock – 201 (South Africa): Shaun Pollock. He played 303 ODIs in all and managed an impressive 393 scalps. Out of these dismissals Pollock had got 201 different batsmen out. 5. He was genuinely fast and formed a perfect partnership with Wasim Akram. Waqar played 262 ODIs in the Pakistan greens and took 416 wickets at an average of around 23. He sent 207 different batsmen to the pavilion during his one-day international career. 4. Glenn McGrath – 208 (Australia): Glenn McGrath. His accurate seam bowling won the Aussies many games and was a pivotal character in their World Cup success as well. He was a troublemaker for the batsmen and was tough to play against with the new and old ball alike. McGrath played 250 ODIs and took 381 wickets, for which he dismissed 208 different batsmen. 3. Afridi broke into the international scene at a raw age of 17 and has since then been very prolific for Pakistan. His career is not finished yet and still has a lot to offer. His playing style is best suited for the limited overs version. Afridi apart from smashing towering sixes has picked 395 wickets in ODIs and has dismissed 253 different batsmen overall. 2. Wasim Akram was clinical in Pakistan’s limited-overs success, including their successful journey in the 1992 World Cup. By the time he called it a day from his limited overs career he had itched himself as the first bowler to get 500 wickets in the format. In all, Akram recorded 502 wickets and dismissed 255 different batsmen in his ODI career. 1. Muttiah Muralitharan – 275 (Sri Lanka): Muttiah Muralitharan. He was an off-spinner, but a really unorthodox one and more often the batsmen had troubles reading his deliveries. Murali had 534 wickets in his ODI career.
