BPL 2019: Best Overseas XI of the tournament
Comilla Victorians collected their second BPL title thanks to sensational knock from Bangladesh's greatest batsman of all time, Tamim Iqbal.
8. Shahid Afridi (Comilla Victorians)
Fans would’ve loved to see him in the list for his batting exploits, but this time, it’s Shahid Afridi the bowling all-rounder who made the cut. The Pakistani legend was not at his prime with the willow in hand, but his experience with the ball was a clear advantage for the Victorians.
He picked up 16 wickets in 13 games at a splendid average of 15.81. He also maintained a fantastic economy rate of 6.15, which is quite amazing for a retired cricketer. With the bat, he could only collect 141 runs at a strike-rate of 136.
9. Sunil Narine (Dhaka Dynamites)
Just like Andre Russell, Sunil Narine instantly makes a side better with his sheer presence. In the final, whilst all bowlers were bowing down to Tamim’s masterclass, he conceded just 18 runs in four overs, a testament to his class with the cherry in hand.
The Trinidadian was at it with the bat as well for Dhaka, but his contribution with the ball is what gets him into this XI. He picked up 18 wickets in 15 matches at an economy of 6.36, to go with 279 runs in 15 innings. He was one of the prime contenders to be awarded Player of the Tournament as well.
