Celebrities laud Virat Kohli for supporting young sportsmen

Bollywood celebrities and superstars in sports have heaped praises on the Indian skipper Virat Kohli for supporting young sportsmen of the country. Kohli along with Sanjiv Goenka’s RPSG hosted a sports event to felicitate the sportsmen in different fields for their achievements on Saturday. The event was named as ‘Indian Sports Honour Awards’ which was attended by Akshay Kumar, Aamir Khan, Virat’s girlfriend and actress Anushka Sharma among others.
The duo of Kohli and Anushka stole the limelight during the event as the couple walked on the red carpet. While Virat was spotted wearing a navy blue tuxedo, Anushka wore a scarlet red pantsuit. Even soon to be married couple Zaheer Khan and Sagarika Ghatge graced the event with their presence and attracted the attention.
Virat is doing an amazing job
The leading actor of the Bollywood, Aamir Khan lauded the efforts of Virat Kohli on the eve and termed the function as a wonderful idea to respect the sportsmen. “I think what Virat is doing and his entire effort to support to young sportsmen across the country is a wonderful idea,” he said on the sidelines of the event on Saturday. Siddharth Malhotra also attended the event and opined that it was a great initiative.
“Today, it’s a great thing that we are honouring all sports personalities for their contribution to the country. I have just come here to support them. While growing up, I used to play rugby, football and basketball so, I think a lot has to be done when it comes to sports. Today’s event makes it more important because they are supporting other sports apart from cricket. It’s a great initiative,” he said. Tennis star of India Sania Mirza admired the efforts of Virat for giving exposure to the other sports apart from cricket.
“Virat is doing an amazing job. We all know, the amazing batsman he is and the amazing captain we have. But it’s really nice, as an athlete what he is trying to bring in sports and trying to give exposure to every other sport in our country,” she said.
