Chennai Super Kings blessed to have MS Dhoni: CSK CEO
He also said that 'the disappointment of shifting games from Chepauk will never go away'.
The Chennai Super Kings have been performing exceptionally well in this year’s IPL. Despite the fact that the team is returning to the tournament after being banned for two years, the energy and the reputation remain the same. They brought back their captain MS Dhoni, Suresh Raina along with Ravindra Jadeja and are placed at the second position on the points table, they’re likely to qualify for the playoffs.
The way individuals have stepped up in different situations has been stupendous. CEO Kasi Viswanathan is extremely pleased with their captain MS Dhoni’s leadership and lauded him. He further spoke about CSK matches shifting to Pune and how they tried to make an effort to not disappoint the fans.
CSK blessed to have Dhoni
One of the captains with the best success rate in the IPL, there’s no doubt about his leadership abilities. Time and again, he has proved that there cannot be a better man at the helm than Captain Cool. Vishwanathan was all praise and felt that CSK is blessed to have him.
“Chennai Super Kings are blessed to have Dhoni, one of the greatest captains India has ever produced, in the side. He manages to get the best out of the players. The way how he is able to marshal the talent is brilliant,” the CEO was quoted as saying by HT.
The disappointment of shifting games from Chepauk will never go away
Due to the Cauvery protests, their home games had to be shifted from Chepauk. It was disappointing for the CSK fans who had waited for two years to watch the yellow team play in Chennai. To tackle the situation they introduced the ‘Whistle Podu’ Express so that thousands of fans could head to Pune in a special train.
“We moved to Pune where we have had success in the past. There was massive disappointment among the fans but it was a situation where we did not have control. It was a big emotional challenge but we got it done. We have done some things to satisfy our passionate supporters. However, the disappointment will never fully go away,” he stated.
