Jasprit Bumrah continued his excellent form in the ongoing Border-Gavaskar Trophy 2024-25 as he dismissed Australian openers Usman Khawaja and Nathan McSweeney with a couple of brilliant deliveries in the early goings of Day 2 in the third Test at The Gabba in Brisbane on Sunday, December 15.

Bumrah needed seven balls on Day 2 to add to the 12 wickets he had taken from the first two Tests in the five-match series. The right-arm seamer pitched the ball around the off-stump line and drew Khawaja into a defensive push. The ball straightened after pitching from the around-the-wicket angle and opened the southpaw up, managing to take the outside edge on its way through to wicketkeeper Rishabh Pant.

The hosts lost their first wicket at 31 in the 17th over. Khawaja's wretched run in the series continued as he was dismissed for 21 after facing 54 balls.

Bumrah didn't stop after taking this wicket as he got the better of McSweeney for the fourth time in five innings in the ongoing series in his following over. The 31-year-old speedster dropped a delivery just short of a good length and it angled back into the right-handed batter.

McSweeney was indecisive in his footwork and eventually stood in an awkward position while playing the delivery. He played inside the line of the ball and a thick outside edge went straight to Virat Kohli at second slip. The former India skipper made no mistake as two Aussie wickets came in quick succession.

The conditions are looking much better for a game of cricket as the sun has managed to make a much-awaited entry. Cricket fans can expect a lot of action on Sunday as the two teams look to assert their dominance in the series.
