CPL 2020: Match 16, Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Trinbago Knight Riders – TKR's best start to a season, Bravo's record and more stats

Trinbago Knight Riders extended their winning streak in the CPL 2020 to five matches following a comfortable 7-wicket win against the Guyana Amazon Warriors. Khary Pierre began the collapse of Guyana with two wickets in his first over itself and ended up with his career-best figures of 3/18. The Amazon Warriors finished with a below-par total of 112/7 which was chased down by the hosts in only 18.2 overs. Tim Seifert (39*) and Darren Bravo (26*) added an unbeaten 63-run stand.

Trinidad’s best start to a CPL season:

5 – Trinbago Knight Riders have won each of the five matches they played in the CPL 2020. This is the first time that the Trinidad franchise has won each of their first five matches of a CPL edition. Their previous best was winning first four matches in 2019 before the 5th game ended in a Tie (TKR lost in the Super Over).

Yet another win for TKR against Guyana:

12 – The Trinbago Knight Riders have won as many as 12 matches in the history of CPL against the Guyana Amazon Warriors. These are the joint-most number of CPL matches a team has won against an opponent. The Guyana team themselves won as many as 12 out of 20 CPL games played against Jamaica Tallawahs.

6-3 – Trinbago Knight Riders have been victorious in as many as six matches at the Queen’s Park Oval against the Guyana Amazon Warriors; the most wins for them at this venue against any team. The Guyana team managed to win three of the nine matches they played at this venue against the hosts. In overall, the Amazon Warriors lost eight of the 12 CPL matches they played in Port of Spain.

Bravo goes past Emrit:

25 – Number of wickets for Dwayne Bravo across the 18 CPL matches against the Guyana Amazon Warriors. No other player has picked more than 16 CPL wickets against the Guyana franchise. Bravo’s 25 wickets against them are also the most by any player against an opponent in this league. He went past Rayad Emrit’s 24 scalps against the St Lucia Zouks which he took while playing in only 16 games.

Tahir’s wicket-taking spree:

27 – Imran Tahir has bagged 27 wickets in the CPL since the start of 2019 across 15 matches; the most number of wickets for any player. Tahir took a wicket in at least 14 of the 15 games and had at least two wickets in 11 matches.
