3 Changes Lucknow Super Giants should make to get back to winning ways
LSG suffered their second defeat in IPL 2024, after DC outplayed them by six wickets in Lucknow.
Delhi Capitals (DC) staged a comeback, outplaying Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) by six wickets in Lucknow on April 11, Friday. With their second win this season, DC jumped one spot from the bottom of the IPL 2024 points table. Meanwhile, LSG's defeat marked their second in the ongoing tournament.
Kuldeep Yadav showcased his bowling prowess for Delhi, finishing with impressive figures of 3/20 in his full quota. Nonetheless, a late 73-run partnership between Ayush Badoni and Arshad Khan enabled Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) to post a competitive total of 167. Unfortunately, their efforts fell short as debutant Jake Fraser-McGurk's stunning 35-ball 55-run knock guided DC to successfully chase down the target with 11 balls to spare.

Here are the three changes Lucknow Super Giants should make to get back to winning ways:
1. Play Nicholas Pooran ahead of Marcus Stoinis
Nicholas Pooran could play a pivotal role for the Lucknow Super Giants in their forthcoming games. Considering Marcus Stoinis' recent struggles with the bat, the hard-hitting West Indian might be sent ahead of the Aussie all-rounder in the batting order. Remarkably, Pooran's impressive performances stand in stark contrast to Stoinis' performances thus far. Notably, he is currently the leading run scorer for LSG, having accumulated 178 runs in five games with the best of an unbeaten 64.
2. Bowling strategy overhaul
LSG should assess their bowling lineup and devise a strategic plan for the remainder of this season. This plan might involve experimenting with different bowling combinations. The major setback of LSG were the injury of Mayank Yadav, who is currently recovering from an abdominal soreness. However, they can rely heavily on Yash Thakur, who is currently the side's leading wicket-taker in the tournament.

3. LSG should consider a replacement for Devdutt Padikkal in top order
Devdutt Padikkal, who joined LSG this season, has been struggling with his form, and his performance against Delhi Capitals has only compounded the issue. Deepak Hooda, another hopeful addition to the squad, has also failed to leave a mark in any of the matches he has played thus far. Additionally, LSG should have to explore alternative options to give Padikkal a much-needed break.
