IPL 2023: 3 Players from Joburg Super Kings CSK might target in auction
The auction is set to take place on December 23, 2022.
The 16th edition of the Indian Premier League is just a few months away, and all ten franchises will be trying to get the best players in their squad to build a stronger team for the forthcoming season. With the IPL auction being scheduled on December 23, the teams would have already started planning and strategizing.
Before the IPL 2023 commences, the inaugural SA20 is set to take place in January. Most of the franchises at the South Africa-based T20 League tournament are owned by the IPL franchises, and thus there are high chances of the IPL teams getting players who are already a part of their SA20 franchise.
One team that has formed a strong squad at the SA20 is Joburg Super Kings, owned by the Chennai Super Kings. The CSK management always plays strategically at the auctions, and they might aim for getting the players who are already a part of their SA20 franchise.
Let us look at 3 Players from Joburg Super Kings CSK might target in auction
-
Harry Brook
Harry Brook was a part of England’s T20 World Cup winning campaign earlier this year, in November 2022. Though he could not perform with the bat during the tournament, his recent form in the Test format has been brilliant.
The CSK management must have seen some potential in him, that is why they got him into their side for the SA20 league. Harry Brook has registered at the IPL 2023 auction at a base price of 1.5Cr, and given his recent form, there is likely to be some competition.
CSK have a settled top-order, but their middle-order woes continue to exist. Getting Harry Brook into the side would help them better their middle-order strength. He will be getting ample game time at the SA20 tournament, and if CSK get their hands on him, he can grow into a destructive batter.
