Gujarat were defeated by Rajasthan Royals in their previous IPL 2023 fixture by three wickets as they failed to defend 177 despite having Rajasthan reeling at 55/4 at one stage. The Hardik Pandya-led side is ranked on the fourth position in the points table, having won three out of five matches so far.

GT have struggled to defend in the tournament so far as both of their losses have come while bowling second. The defending champions will look to sort their problems as quickly as possible going ahead in the tournament and hence will have to field their strongest playing XI against Lucknow.

Here's Gujarat Titans’ predicted XI against Lucknow Super Giants:

Openers: Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha (wk)

Shubman Gill continued his brilliant form against Rajasthan Royals as he scored 45 off 34 balls. The opening batter has amassed 228 runs in five innings in the season so far at an average of 45.60 and a strike rate of 139.87 with two fifties to his name. The 23-year-old has failed to notch up a big score in the season so far and will be eager to go big against LSG.

The right-handed batter has batted with intent at the top of the order, playing with a strike rate of 145.16. Sai Sudharsan got run out in the previous fixture for just 20 off 19 balls, however, he has performed exceptionally ever since replacing Kane Williamson in the opening encounter as an impact player. The 21-year-old has amassed 176 runs in five innings at an average of 44 and a strike rate of 123.94 with two fifties to his name. After having a couple of low scores in the last two matches, Sudharsan will be eager to score big against LSG.

The southpaw has scored 96 runs in four innings at an average of 96 and a strike rate of 143.28. Miller is a proven performer in IPL and has a reputation to take his team home from the most precarious situations.

Abhinav Manohar played a good cameo of 27 runs off 13 balls against RR and earlier scored 14 off 8 against KKR in the third fixture. The 28-year-old will look to get a big score against his name if given an opportunity against LSG.

Rahul Tewatia has provided finishing touches twice in the season far, first against CSK in the opening game and second against Punjab Kings in the fourth fixture. The southpaw is a specialist in finishing games for his side and has proven his prowess time and again.
