MI are entering the game, having trumped Rajasthan Royals by six wickets in a nail-biter. Tim David was the chief architect of triumph as he smashed 45* runs off just 14 deliveries to help his side chase down the daunting target of 213 runs in 19.3 overs. Courtesy of the victory, they are placed seventh in the IPL 2023 points table with four wins in eight games, Rohit Sharma & Co. would look to play in the same vein in the forthcoming game and defeat the Punjab side.

Here's Mumbai Indians’ predicted XI against Punjab Kings

Rohit Sharma is one of the finest opening batters in world cricket. Be it in the international arena or the Indian Premier League, the veteran batter has put up an exhibition of his glorious stroke play and piled on runs for fun. Also, he has been a brilliant reader of the game and displayed his captaincy credentials time and time again.

However, Rohit has not been at his best in the ongoing season of the cash-rich league. He has featured in eight matches and has managed to score only 184 runs. The 36-year-old would look to make amends and display his batting might in the forthcoming game.

Coming to Ishan Kishan, the southpaw has taken the attack on the opposition right from the get-go and provided his side with crackling starts. He has featured in 83 IPL games and aggregated 2081 runs at a strike rate of 131.96. Further, Kishan has a safe pair of hands behind the stumps.

Middle Order -  Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Tim David

Mumbai Indians have Suryakumar Yadav at their disposal. He is a marauder with the bat and has destroyed bowling attacks with his 360-degree stroke play. The ace batter was magnificent in the clash against Rajasthan Royals and smashed 55 runs off 29 deliveries.

Besides Suryakumar, MI also possess Tilak Varma and Tim David in their arsenal. Tilak has been phenomenal with the bat and has accumulated 248 runs from eight matches at a stunning strike rate of 152.14. He would look to carry on the good work for the five-time IPL champions in the forthcoming clash.

Talking about David, the 27-year-old is a ferocious striker of the cricket ball and has knocked the wind out of bowling attacks with his power-hitting might. He played a blistering knock of 45* runs off 14 balls in the clash against Sanju Samson & Co. to take his side across the line. The ace batter would look to put his best foot forward in the upcoming game.

All-rounder - Cameron Green

Cameron Green is one of those players who have made heads turn every time he has stepped into the cricket field. He has obliterated bowlers with his marauding bat and emerged as a game-changer with the bat. Also, the 23-year-old has been superb with the ball and provided his side with timely breakthroughs.

Green has been simply sensational in the 16th edition of the marquee tournament. He has featured in eight matches and racked up 243 runs at an astonishing strike rate of 152.83. On the bowling front, the ace all-rounder has picked up five scalps in those outings.

Given the kind of batting form Green has been in, it would not be a surprise if he put up a show with the bat in the encounter against Punjab Kings. Further, the Australian all-rounder would like to show his bowling might in the clash on Wednesday.

Bowlers - Piyush Chawla, Kumar Kartikeya, Jofra Archer, Riley Meredith, Arshad Khan

The Mumbai Indians have the services of Piyush Chawla and Kumar Kartikeya in the spin department. Piyush has been MI’s wrecker-in-chief in the ongoing season and bagged 13 wickets at an economy of 7.29. Kartikeya, on the other hand, has done a decent job with the ball and picked up two scalps in three outings at an economy of 7.70.

In the fast-bowling department, MI have the likes of Jofra Archer, Riley Meredith and Arshad Khan in the mix. Archer is known to torment batters with his pace and wreak havoc with the ball. However, he has been a pale shadow of his vintage self in IPL 2023 and managed to take only two scalps in three games, conceding runs at a poor economy of 9.16.

Talking about Meredith, the Australian pacer has been amongst the wickets in the ongoing season and bagged seven scalps in five matches. However, he has leaked runs at an alarming rate of 10.52. The team management would hope Riley is at the top of his game against Shikhar Dhawan & Co.

Coming to Arshad, he has troubled batters with his swing and bagged wickets at regular intervals. The 25-year-old would look to impress with his performance in the upcoming game.
