Sunrisers Hyderabad need to buckle up
Pat Cummins-led Sunrisers Hyderabad have emerged as a formidable force in this year's IPL. With 6 wins (12 points) out of 10 matches, SRH are currently placed at number four on IPL 2024 points table. SRH's upcoming 4 matches are against LSG, GT, and PBKS. To solidify their playoff berth, Sunrisers Hyderabad must win all these matches. Winning 2 out of these 3 matches would compel SRH to rely on other teams' performances to qualify for the IPL 2024 playoffs, especially after the loss against Mumbai Indians.
To qualify in a setup like T20s Indian Premier League, a team needs to have 16 points in total to be secured and qualify for the playoffs. However, SRH have 12 points and out of the 11 matches they have played, lost 5 and won 6 matches.
"Probably a couple short, at the Wankhede you want as many as you can get. You always feel like you’re in, the wicket had a little bit in it so we were definitely in the game. I think Sanvir helped us get to that 170 instead of 150, ideally, we’d have a bowler. It’s T20 cricket, and it doesn't always work out. SKY played really well. We like playing at home, we’ll wait and see what’s ahead of us. Hopefully a few more fireworks," Sunrisers skipper Pat Cummins after the loss against the home team.
