IPL 2024: Royal Challengers Bengaluru's strongest predicted playing XI against Kolkata Knight Riders
Faf du Plessis-led side will take on Kolkata Knight Riders in their return fixture after suffering a heavy loss in the first meeting in Bengaluru.
Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) are in a very precarious position ahead of their visit to Kolkata on Sunday, April 21. The Faf du Plessis-led side will take on Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in their return fixture after suffering a heavy loss in the first meeting in Bengaluru on March 29.
The IPL 2024 season could very well end for RCB if they lose to KKR on Sunday. The home team has recently lost a close game to Rajasthan Royals thanks to the magnificence of Jos Buttler.
The Bengaluru team are coming into the this match after conceding the highest-ever team total in the history of the IPL. The bowling this season has been well below par and the lack of form of some of the senior players has hurt RCB.

Openers – Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis (C)
Faf du Plessis has scored two successive half-centuries to signal his return to form for his side. The 39-year-old kept his team in the hunt during a massive chase against SRH in the last encounter. RCB’s skipper knows that his team needs more from him especially if they have to start accumulating points to make it to the top four spot in the table.

Middle-order – Rajat Patidar and Dinesh Karthik (WK)
It has been a difficult few months as far as Rajat Patidar is concerned. The 30-year-old though has all the talent in the world and is an exceptional stroke-maker. RCB will want Rajat Patidar to rediscover his best during the second half of the season.
Dinesh Karthik has been surprising the fans with his brutal hitting during IPL 2024. The 38-year-old scored an impressive 83 vs Hyderabad and is one of the top scorers of the season for his side. Eden Gardens is a known venue for Dinesh Karthik as he was the KKR skipper before his move to Bengaluru.
All-Rounder – Will Jacks and Mahipal Lomror
In the absence of Glenn Maxwell, it is Will Jacks who has to step up with the bat and ball for his side. it hasn’t been an easy start to the IPL journey for the Englishman but considering the class he has, Will Jacks is just a game away from showing his real potential.
After preferring Mayank Dagar in the early part of the season, RCB have started to give Mahipal Lomror more game time. The left-handed batter is also a capable spinner with the ability to eke out crucial wickets.

Bowlers – Vijaykumar Vyshak, Reece Topley, Lockie Ferguson, Yash Dayal, and Mohammed Siraj

Lockie Ferguson returns to his former team in the hope of proving a point after his reasonably decent debut for RCB in the last game.
The Indian duo of Vijaykumar Vyshak and Yash Dayal will be expected to be more disciplined with the ball on Sunday. All the focus will be on Mohammed Siraj though who hasn’t been able to show his best form and picked just four wickets from the six appearances this season.
