IPL 2025: 5 Capped and 1 uncapped player CSK might retain ahead of the mega-auction
Chennai Super Kings will look to retain their best players ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.
The Indian Premier League 2025 will see a mega auction being organised; all 10 teams will undergo several big changes in their roster, with many big names potentially switching over to different franchises as well. One major feature that the fans would focus on before the mega auction would be the retentions of each franchise.
One such team that the fans will be eager to know about is the five-time champions Chennai Super Kings. Continuing on the same, let us have a look at three potential players that CSK could retain ahead of the IPL 2025 mega auction.
Here are the five capped and 1 uncapped player CSK might retain ahead of the mega-auction:
1. Ruturaj Gaikwad
Star batter Ruturaj Gaikwad was named Chennai Super Kings’ skipper ahead of the IPL 2024, replacing the legendary MS Dhoni in the role. It is interesting to note that, where Dhoni has not made any statement about his inclusion in the IPL 2025, it is expected that the 43-year-old will not feature for CSK in the marquee event, with the five-time champions continuing with Gaikwad as their skipper.
In the 14 games that Gaikwad played for Chennai in the IPL 2024, he scored 583 runs to his name, maintaining a brilliant average of 53 per innings, and with such a stellar performance behind him, he can be one of the first retentions that Chennai will make in the mega auction.
