ODI World Cup 2023: 3 changes England must make in 7th ODI against Bangladesh to comeback in tournament
England will look to do some changes in their playing XI to extract positive results against Bangladesh in Dharamsala.
1. Ben Stokes for Harry Brook
With the heavy pounding in the first game, England will look to get the services of Ben Stokes in the next contest. Stokes’ experience and skills are unprecedented and make him one of the most reliable players in the team. In the case of exigency, the 32-year-old masters the art of handling the situation calmly.
The left-handed batter was also among the runs in the recently played three-match ODI series against the Kiwis at home. In the third ODI at the Oval, he played a spectacular knock of 182 off 124 and guided his side to a comprehensive 181-run win. The veteran’s unavailability in the first World Cup 2023 game cost England but in the next match, captain Jos Buttler will surely look to induct him into the playing XI.
Stokes’ comeback might rule out Brook from the 11-member squad. Despite doing a fine job with the bat in the maiden World Cup 2023 game, the young England stalwart might lose his place to Stokes as all main batters are superior to the 24-year-old in terms of experience.
