ODI World Cup 2023: 3 changes England must make in 7th ODI against Bangladesh to comeback in tournament
England will look to do some changes in their playing XI to extract positive results against Bangladesh in Dharamsala.
2. Reece Topley for Chris Woakes
As the most experienced bowler in the side, Chris Woakes was expected to spearhead England’s bowling unit efficiently to defend a decent total of 283 successfully against New Zealand. However, the pacer looked completely out of rhythm, splurging 45 runs in his six overs.
The veteran speedster also went back to the pavilion wicketless. Noting Woakes’ below-par bowling show in the first match, the England skipper should think of picking up Reece Topley against Bangladesh. Topley provides a variety to the bowling attack with his left-arm pace bowling.
With Mark Wood and Sam Curran, Topley can wreak havoc on the Bangla batters at the Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) Stadium. The 29-year-old also exuded confidence with the ball in the warm-up game against Bangladesh in Guwahati, bagging 3/23 figures in five overs.
