Suryakumar Yadav made his ODI debut in 2021 against Sri Lanka after a few amazing IPL seasons and setting the World on fire with his outstanding T20I batting. He is currently the number 1 T20I batter in the World but is yet to showcase the same talent in ODIs. In his first World Cup, he can turn out to be the match-winner that India has been searching for.

In 30 games he has scored 667 runs in ODIs with just four 50+ scores. His average of 27.79 doesn’t do any justice to his exceptional talent but his SR of 105.71 is the key factor in his selection. He may be extremely lethal if India tries to play him in the lower order as he can strike big with the range of shots he has in the death overs.

As suggested by the team management, India may play him at number 6 after the solid middle order to provide that X factor. If Sky can get it right, he may turn out to be the game-changer. India started their journey with the game against Australia on October 8, at Chennai, in their quest to get the third World Cup.
