The 22-year-old pacer from Pakistan has been a part of the squad for a long now. He debuted last year against Australia at Gaddafi Stadium and should be an important member in his first World Cup. He can also be a useful tailender who can Tonk the ball around.

He never got a long run as Pakistan always preferred Shaheen Afridi, Haris Raif, and Naseem Shah but the chance may have arrived for Wasim now. With Naseem Shah ruled out because of injury he may play as the 3rd pacer. The only choice is between Hasan Ali and him.

With 24 wickets in 16 games, he had a couple of good outings but his new-ball bowling is crucial for Pakistan. Pakistan has been struggling in recent times with Asia Cup performance being dismal and a team struggling with injury. Babar Azam and co. have never played in India and that can be a deciding factor.
