The Lucknow Super Giants were dealt with a massive blow as Shivam Mavi had to pull out due to injury. The 25-year-old was purchased by the KL Rahul-led side for INR 6.4 crore during the IPL 2024 auction late last year.

It has been terrible few years for Shivam Mavi who had made an impressive debut for India in early 2023. Host of injuries dented his chances to be a part of the IPL last year and this led Gujarat Titans to release him.

According to reports, the youngster will work on his fitness as there is no given timeline for his return. This would mean that the franchise will have to look for a replacement player who can be an ideal back-up.

Here are the top three likely replacements for Shivam Mavi in Lucknow Super Giants squad for IPL 2024 -

3. KM Asif

The 30-year-old fast bowler KM Asif was part of the Chennai Super Kings and Rajasthan Royals squads and has played seven IPL games so far. The Kerala fast bowler has the ability to bowl at rapid speeds and also uses the change of pace very well.

Asif can be an ideal replacement for Shivam Mavi as he can bowl with the new ball as well as in the middle-overs. The LSG team is having the precarious talent of Mayank Yadav at its disposal. The youngster though has had his own fair share of history with injuries which would prompt the team to manage his workload well.
