Indian Premier League is a platform where top-drawer players from around the world assemble and showcase their might on the cricket field. From Glenn McGrath to Sachin Tendulkar to Chris Gayle to Virat Kohli, many superstars of the game have blessed the IPL with their stunning displays.

In the 2023 edition of the lucrative T20 tournament, fans shall again witness many top-drawer players taking the stage. However, certain players who have stamped their authority on the cricket field time and time again, might not feature in the upcoming season due to their respective injuries.

Here are 5 players who might miss IPL 2023 due to injury:

5. Phil Salt

Phil Salt has been a bankable name in the T20 circuit. The ace batter has shown his ability to take the attack to the opposition right from the get-go and has given his side brisk starts. He has featured in 167 matches in the shortest format and hammered 3817 runs at a strike rate of 150.39.

The wicketkeeper-batter has also been sensational in the international arena. Salt has taken top-quality attacks to the cleaners with his stroke play and smashed 245 runs in 13 matches at a stunning strike rate of 161.18.

The Bodelwyddan-born suffered a grade two ligament injury in his shoulder while diving to try and stop a David Warner boundary during the final game of the three-match ODI series at the Melbourne Cricket Ground in November 2022. Salt was not able to take part in that game post the incident.

Salt has been ruled out of the Big Bash League 2022-23 due to a shoulder injury. It remains to be seen if the England batter will be able to recover in time for the upcoming edition of the cash-rich league, where he is expected to represent Delhi Capitals.
