Sachin notched up a couple of tons in the Asia Cup and till 2012, he was the batter with most centuries in the tournament for India, along with Suresh Raina. In the 1995 Asia Cup, Tendulkar scored his first Asia Cup century against Sri Lanka in Sharjah, in the round-robin stage. Following the total of 203, Tendulkar scored an unbeaten 112 off 107 and helped India win the game. Moreover, he also won the Player of the Match award.

Tendulkar’s second Asia Cup century came against Bangladesh in 2012. This time, the veteran played a 114-run innings and brought his 100th international ton. In the upcoming Asia Cup edition, Rohit will get a chance to break Sachin’s record of scoring the second-most centuries for India in the continental cup.

So far, Rohit Sharma has hit only one ton in the marquee Asian tournament but the veteran might leave Tendulkar’s record of two centuries in the upcoming event. In the 2018 edition, Rohit played an unbeaten knock of 111 off 119 against Pakistan and helped his team to achieve the target of 238 comfortably in 39.3 overs.
