Mahela Jayawardene holds the record of playing the most matches in the Asia Cup, representing Sri Lanka in 28 games. For India, Tendulkar represented India in 23 matches and with this number of outings, he is the Indian with the most matches in the Asian tournament.

Following Sachin, Rohit Sharma is the player with the second-most appearances in the Asia Cup with 22 matches. In 2008, Rohit made his Asia Cup debut against Hong Kong and since then, he has been part of the Indian team in all editions of the tournament. In the upcoming Asia Cup 2023, India will play at least two games and if Rohit appears in both contests, he will leave Sachin behind.

Rohit has been a part of India’s Asia Cup victories in 2010 and 2018, respectively. In the 2018 edition, he guided India to the trophy win with his captaincy and batting. The veteran amassed 317 runs in five matches at a strike rate of 93.51 and ended up as the second-leading run-getter in the competition.
