Talking more, here are ratings for Asia Cup 2023 teams based on their performances:
6. Nepal- 4/10
Nepal qualified for the Asia Cup for the first time this year after winning the 2023 ACC Men’s Premier Cup held in April-May. Under the captaincy of Rohit Paudel, Nepal were expected to put up some fight against the heavyweights India and Pakistan who were placed in Group A along with the first-timers.
In their maiden game, Nepal got a 238-run defeat at the hands of hosts Pakistan at the Multan Cricket Stadium. After the embarrassing loss, their next encounter was against India at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium. The Men in Blue pocketed the game by 10 wickets and knocked them out of the competition.
However, one thing that went positive for Nepal in the match was that their batters displayed their spunky side against Indian bowlers. Riding on their batters’ fine performance, Nepal scored 230 runs in the game. Despite the loss, their batters’ fighting spirit was hailed in the cricketing circle.
