In the era of T20 cricket, there are many talks going around about the future of Test cricket. In the past, many predicted the death of the longest format of the game in coming decades, but many cricketers are striving their best to keep the oldest form of the sport alive with their spunky performances. In a recent development, a Bangladesh cricketer smashed a fabulous century against India at the Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chittagong, and created a feat.
With this record, the youngster also joined the elite list which consists of renowned names such as Sir Alastair Cook, Kane Williamson, Faf du Plessis, Shikhar Dhawan, and Rohit Sharma as these cricketers too scored a ton on their Test debut. As a Bangladesh cricketer, he became the fourth cricketer to hold his nerves to become a centurion in a maiden Test.

4. Zakir Hasan- Chittagong, December 2022
Replacing injured Tamim Iqbal for the home Test series against India, Bangladesh cricketer Zakir Hasan played his maiden Test match at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chittagong. Grabbing the opportunity with both hands, Iqbal notched up an amazing century and created history. With the incredible innings, he also became the fourth Bangladesh batter to score a hundred on a Test debut.
Pursuing the colossal target of 513 runs against the Men in Blue, the Bangla Tigers delivered a good start as Hasan along with his opening partner Najmul Hasan Shanto stitched a 124-run partnership. As the latter departed on 67 runs, the next two batters Yasir Ali and Litton Das departed early scoring only 5 runs and 19 runs respectively.
However, the youngster Hasan despite going through these scenes held his nerves and took the Bangladesh innings ahead and scored his maiden century too. After scoring his century, he departed as Ravichandran Ashwin got him caught by Virat Kohli, who was standing at the first slip.
