Match Overview

From the two exciting matches of Group A, it is time for the Group B teams to play, and this time the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium will be hosting the game between two-time Champions Trophy winner Australia and inaugural Champions Trophy winners South Africa on February 25.

Both teams start their campaign with big wins

The thing that makes this matchup interesting is the two teams have won their opening game of the tournament convincingly. South Africa secured a thumping 107-run victory over Afghanistan and the Aussies went on to chase down a massive total against England in Lahore.

The pace attack will be tested for both sides

There is no doubt that the batting line-up of both teams is very strong but it is the pace attack that will be tested on the day. While Kagiso Rabada and Marco Jansen performed well, Lungi Ngidi was slightly expensive which makes his form questionable. On the other hand, the Aussies might have won the game but their inexperienced pace attack did not have a great outing with the ball.

South Africa skipper Temba Bavuma has been playing well in ODI cricket of late and will want to continue his good form. On the other hand, Adam Zampa has proved to be one of the most reliable wicket-takers for the Aussies in the past. On the wickets that have been played on it will be interesting to see how Bavuma will tackle him.

Speaking of the head-to-head stats between the two players, Bavuma has an average of 43 against the leggie and has been dismissed by him only once. However, Zampa has not let him get away which is evident in Bavuma’s low strike rate of just 74.1.
