India are all set to lock horns with Sri Lanka in a three-match ODI series, starting January 10.  Rohit Sharma is back at the helm after recovering from a finger injury, with Hardik Pandya as his deputy. Also, the ODI series will mark the return of Mohammed Shami into the international fold after recuperating from a shoulder injury.

The Men in Blue had a great showing in the T20I series against the Lankan Lions as they bagged it 2-1. As India bid to continue their winning momentum with an eye on the 2023 World Cup, let us look at the players to watch out for.

3. Umran Malik

Umran Malik is one of the rare breeds of Indian fast-bowlers who can clock speeds of over 150 kmph on a consistent basis. He caught a lot of eyeballs with his sensational showing in IPL 2022, taking 22 scalps in 14 games for Sunrisers Hyderabad.

Courtesy of Umran’s stellar displays, he broke into the Indian white-ball set-up. The speedster has improved with each passing game and has done a decent job in the international arena. He has featured in five ODIs and bagged seven scalps at an economy of 6.00. Talking about the T20Is, the ace pacer has picked up nine scalps in six outings for the Men in Blue.

Umran was quite impressive in the T20I series against Sri Lanka, taking seven scalps in three games. His inclusion has added another dimension to the pace attack and made the bowling unit more rounded. He would be looking to carry on the good work and wreak havoc with the ball in the forthcoming ODI series against the Lankan Lions.
