Munaf Patel was an unsung hero of India’s enormous victory in 2011. Picking 11 wickets in eight matches at an economy of 5.36, Patel left an incredible impact on the tournament. In the semi-final and final matches of the competition, his economical spells steered India to a title win.

In September 2011, he played his last ODI match against England and got dropped. The pacer exited the game in November 2018, with his announcement of retirement. The veteran ended his career with 125 wickets in 86 international matches.

In 2018, Patel also participated in the Abu Dhabi T10 League along with Brendon McCullum and Carlos Braithwaite to represent the Rajputs. Currently, he is associated with KP Group, a renewable energy company based in Gujarat. In 2022, the organisation signed Patel as its brand ambassador.
