Suresh Raina was a vital cog in India’s success in the 2011 marquee event. In the first five World Cup matches, he was not a part of the team’s playing XI. In the last group match, captain MS Dhoni included him in the team against the West Indies. However, he exuded confidence in the tournament against Australia in the quarter-final match at Ahmedabad.

With his 34-run innings off just 28 balls, he played the role of a match-finisher efficiently along with Yuvraj Singh. Against the arch-rivals Pakistan in the semi-final match at Mohali, he helped India to post a competitive 260/9, with his valuable unbeaten knock of 36 runs off 39 deliveries.

In July 2018, Raina featured in international cricket for the last time as he decided to wind up his international career along with MS Dhoni. Post-retirement, Raina is currently a cricket expert. Apart from that, he is also a member of the commentary panel in the cash-rich Indian Premier League (IPL). Moreover, Raina also plays in the T10 format in the Middle East. Apart from that, recently, he opened an Indian restaurant venture in Amsterdam
