IPL 2023: 5 Delhi Capitals (DC) players who could be benched throughout the season
DC are full of match-winners but it would not be possible for the team management to give opportunities to each and every player present in the team.
1. Lungi Ngidi
Lungi Ngidi has been a bankable name in the T20 circuit. He has featured in 98 matches in the shortest format and picked up 139 wickets at an economy of 8.07. The ace pacer has made the ball talk at the start of the innings and has also been impeccable at the fag end of the innings.
The 26-year-old has been exceptional in the international arena as well, bagging 58 scalps in 36 T20Is at an economy of 8.91. Delhi Capitals signed Ngidi at the 2022 mega auction to strengthen the bowling line-up. However, he did not get a single game with the presence of Nortje and Mustafizur Rahman also in the mix.
Given the ace international pacers are still in the team, they are likely to be higher in the pecking order. Further, Salt is likely to take up an overseas slot with Pant unavailable for the coming season, and therefore, Ngidi might have to wait to make his debut for Delhi.
