IPL 2023: Complete list of injured players and their replacements
These players are important for their respective franchises and their unavailability might dent their teams' chances to win the title this year.
3. Rishabh Pant
Rishabh Pant has played a huge role in the re-emergence of DC. Utlising his talented batting and fabulous captaincy skills for the welfare of the team, the youngster has upgraded the standard of Capitals in the last four league seasons. Since 2018, he has been consistent for the franchise with his bat.
The southpaw ended up becoming the second-leading run-scorer in the 2022 edition, amassing 340 runs in 14 matches at a jaw-dropping strike rate of 151.78. Along with batting, he has also proven himself as a captain. From 2019-21, Delhi Capitals were the only side to qualify for the knockout round consecutively three times.
This time, the DC stalwart won’t take part in the league, having met with a dreadful car accident (December 2022). Following his absence in the 2023 season, Capitals have handed the captaincy mantle to the explosive Australia batter David Warner, who won the IPL title for Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) back in 2016 while leading the side.
