IPL 2023: Flop XI from fifth week
These players delivered disappointing numbers to their respective teams in the fifth week of the T20 tournament.
5. Harry Brook
For Harry Brook, his maiden IPL season is becoming something to forget about. The flamboyant England batter’s disastrous show has caused a lot of damage to Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (SRH) campaign as they are now at the bottom of the table on the IPL 2023 points table with only six points in nine matches.
So far, Brook has appeared in nine matches in the ongoing season and has amassed only 163 runs at a strike rate of 121.64. In the 40th IPL 2023 contest, SRH emerged victorious against Delhi Capitals (DC) by nine runs at the Arun Jaitley Stadium, but Brook got dismissed for nought.
In the next game against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in Hyderabad, he remained inconsistent as the 24-year-old again threw his wicket on a duck and left his team in trouble. At the end of the day, his non-performance proved costly to the Orange Army as the hosts fell five runs short.
