So far, Kolkata Knight Riders are one of the worst-performing sides in this year’s IPL, with only two victories in seven matches. One of their oldest stalwarts, Andre Russell, who is known for his all-round talent, has got unsuccess in strengthening the team in both bowling and batting departments.

The third week of the IPL 2023 started with a match between KKR and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at Eden Gardens. In this game, Andre Russell took three wickets with the ball but displayed a below-par show while batting. Chasing a massive 229, the KKR team management wanted him to play his part excellently, but the Caribbean player again threw his wicket cheaply at his score of three.

Against Mumbai Indians (MI), he scored a quick 21 off 11 with the bat; however, failed to carry the momentum in the match while bowling with his horrendous figures of 1-0-17-0. In KKR's four-wicket defeat at the hands of Delhi Capitals (DC), Russell piled up 38 runs from 31 deliveries, but his team will want him to be consistent in the upcoming contests.
