After losing a low-scoring match against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB), Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will host Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023, at the Ekana Sports City Stadium in Lucknow. The contest will be crucial for both LSG and CSK to solidify themselves on the points table to qualify for the Playoffs. Currently, both sides have amassed five wins and four losses in their respective nine games.

CSK will look to return to the winning ways as they failed to rack up victories in their previous two games. While, on the other hand, the Lucknow outfit will look to come back stronger after their defeat against RCB. Both teams will expect their best players to light up in the crucial contest as a victory in this upcoming game will only bolster them in the league round to advance to the Playoffs.

Discussing more, here are three players to watch out for in the CSK vs LSG contest

3. Ravindra Jadeja

Ravindra Jadeja has performed consistently for CSK in this competition. The 34-year-old has looked efficient for the Yellow Army with 13 wickets in nine matches at an economy of 7.50. Consequently, he is the second-leading wicket-taker for his team, following Tushar Deshpande, who is holding Purple Cap with 17 wickets in nine matches.

His best in the tournament came against the Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Wankhede Stadium, where he chipped in with (3/20) a three-wicket haul in his team’s seven-wicket victory. CSK lost their last two games against Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) respectively, but Jadeja’s bowling display will boost the confidence of the team.

Against the quality batters such as Kyle Mayers, Ayush Badoni, Marcus Stoinis, and Nicholas Pooran, his all-rounder role will be vital for the team. Along with the ball, the Southpaw will strive to improve his efficiency with his bat as well. Down the batting order, CSK will expect him to contribute with his bat as a match-finisher. Thus far, he has scored 92 runs in nine matches at a strike rate of 143.75.
