A captain's knock in true sense is what we can term Sam Curran's innings against Mumbai at Wankhede. Again in this match, PBKS missed service of Shikhar Dhawan as Sam took the charge. Batting first, Punjab were going at a  substantial run rate. Curran came to bat at number six when his team was 83/4.

He started to see off Hrithik Shokeen and Cameron Green for first couple of overs. Then he started to play freely from the fourteenth over. He built a vital partnership of 92 off 50 with Harpreet Singh. They hit Arjun Tendulkar for 31 runs changing the course of the match eventually.

Sam's bat flow and timing was need of the hour. He continued to shine later on. He took the team score close to 200. The pocket dynamo is more than a capable batter. Now, for past couple of games he's really coming into the groove. His knock proved to be more important when MI got almost close to the total.
