IPL 2024: GT vs KKR Match 63 - Top 3 player battles to watch out for

Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Gujarat Titans (GT) are gearing up for their first meeting in the IPL 2024. KKR became the first team to qualify for the playoffs and their sole aim is to finish in the top two positions in the points table. GT, on the other hand, are on the verge of elimination but still in the hunt.

The 2022 champions are currently in eighth place. It is a do-or-die match for them as they are one loss away from being eliminated from the tournament. GT recently defeated Chennai Super Kings (CSK) comprehensively and will aim to repeat that form against Shreyas Iyer’s team. 

However, it will not be easy for Shubman Gill and Co. as KKR are in scintillating form and they are coming on the back of an impressive win against Mumbai Indians (MI). Ahmedabad's Narendra Modi Stadium will host the crucial encounter on Monday (May 13) and an intense battle between the two is expected.

3. Andre Russell vs Rashid Khan

KKR all-rounder Andre Russell has been shining more in the bowling department than batting this season. Meanwhile, spin wizard Rashid Khan has not lived up to expectations so far. Neither is in top form in their areas of strength, but both can be dangerous on their day.

Russell will come in at the middle stage of the innings to accelerate the scoring rate. The big man will aim to smash towering sixes and Rashid will look to outplay him with the spin attack. Notably, Rashid has dismissed Russell thrice in the IPL, conceding just 24 runs in 22 deliveries.
