After the 2023 World Cup fever, the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 auction is set to grab the limelight in December 2023. Before the business event to be held in Dubai, all franchises have submitted their release lists which feature some of the flop names of the 2023 edition of the league.

In the upcoming auction, some non-performing players might get buyers as they elevated their performance in other tournaments held after the cash-rich league’s 2023 instalment. However, a few players might not get picked up at the massive event, due to their consistent failures in the year 2023.

Here are five released players who might not get buyers in the upcoming auction:

After Kyle Jamieson’s back injury, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) signed up South Africa pacer Sisanda Magala for the 2023 IPL. The Protea bowler had a perfect chance to deliver solid numbers to the Yellow Army and reserve his place in the champion side but missed it due to his ordinary bowling performances.

Playing two games in the tournament, he got only one wicket at a dismal economy of 8.50. CSK released Magala before the 2024 auction and now, he will go under the hammer on December 19. The 32-year-old has played only three games after the 2023 IPL and in those three games, he didn’t do wonders with the ball.

In the CSA Provincial One-Day Challenge, he could scalp only three wickets for Lions in two contests, at an expensive economy of 6.53. Noting his poor bowling numbers, no franchise might show interest in signing him up in the upcoming auction in Dubai.
