IPL: Top 5 best bowling performances for SRH
With a few weeks left for the 2024 IPL, Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) fans can bring cheers to their faces with the five best bowling performances of their team.
4. Bhuvneshwar Kumar’s 5/19 against Punjab Kings (PBKS) in 2017
Bhuvneshwar Kumar has been serving SRH since 2014 and in these 10 years, he has delivered some excellent match-winning performances to the team. He is the only bowler in the history of IPL to win the Purple Cap for two consecutive seasons.
In 2017, SRH failed to defend the title but Bhuvneshwar again became the highest wicket-taker in the competition with 26 wickets in 14 matches at an economy of 7.05. Against Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, he became the first SRH bowler to clinch a fifer.
Taking on Punjab’s formidable batting unit confidently, the India paceman defended an average total of 159 successfully for SRH. He bowled a four-over spell and got rid of Hashim Amla, Glenn Maxwell, and Manan Vohra, who could’ve been dangerous for his team. The speedster also scalped the wickets of tailenders Mohit Sharma and KC Cariappa. Riding on his disciplined bowling show, SRH pocketed a five-run win.
