ODI World Cup 2023: Best XI of Group Stage
In the league round, some players looked extraordinary and shattered several feats. Witnessing their exceptional performances thus far, it’s time to pick the best XI of the league round.
11. Adam Zampa
Adam Zampa is the leading wicket-taker after the league round with 22 scalps in nine games at an economy of 5.26. After failing to do anything special in the first two games, the leg-break bowler trapped four batters in the Aussies side’s five-wicket win against Sri Lanka.
Australia registered a 62-run win against Pakistan at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium and Zampa put up a disciplined show with the ball on the difficult batting pitch, picking up four key Pakistan batters. In the Aussie side’s humongous 309-run win, the 31-year-old displayed his skills with four hunts.
Zampa ripped apart England in Ahmedabad with his tight bowling, bagging the key scalps of Jos Buttler, Ben Stokes, and Moeen Ali. In Australia’s knockout clash against the Proteas in Kolkata, Zampa will look to continue his brilliant form.
