8. Jos Buttler - 5/10

After Eoin Morgan’s retirement from International cricket, Jos Buttler was given the captaincy mantle of the English team and the T20 World Cup 2022 was a perfect opportunity for him to prove his leadership skills.

To gear up for the World Cup, England arrived in Australia early to play a 3-match series against the Kangaroos. In the series, England under Buttler played competitive cricket by defeating Australia, 2-0. With the kind of preparation, the English team was expected to have a blazing start by crushing Afghanistan in the first match. But in the match, England’s batting line-up struggled to chase down a mere 113. Along with other batters, Buttler also failed to perform in the match.

England, in the T20 World Cup have been placed in the group of death. Despite knowing the fact, Buttler and his men were unsuccessful against Ireland. According to the Duckworth-Lewis method, the English team were five runs behind Ireland, which eventually led to the loss of the Englishmen against Irish. Thus far, playing two games, under Buttler’s captaincy, the English batters looked poor by getting dominated by bowlers, and to make it to the next level, the skipper has to inspire his boys to be aggressive.
