T20 World Cup 2022: 10 prominent IPL stars who will not feature in the tournament
The T20 World Cup 2022 next month in October will not feature some of the most sought after IPL names.
4. Sunil Narine
Sunil Narine is considered a legend in T20 cricket. The 34-year-old is known to bamboozle batters with his numerous variations and is more than handy with the bat. In IPL 2022, the ace-spinner proved quite tough to get away with and took nine wickets at a phenomenal economy of 5.57 across 14 matches.
However, Narine would not be part of the West Indies squad for the T20 World Cup. On Narine's unavailability, CWI chief selector Desmond Haynes said “I did not get any notice from Narine regarding his availability to play. There were conversations that the captain (Nicholas Pooran) was having with Narine, and from all reports, it seemed that he was not interested."
Narine has been sensational for his national side taking 52 wickets in 51 matches at a jaw-dropping economy rate of 6.01. It is unfortunate that a player of such caliber would not feature in an event as colossal as the T20 World Cup.
