The much anticipated T20 World Cup 2022 is around the corner and Team India is sweating it out in their bid to become the T20 World champions for the second time. However, India’s World Cup hopes have suffered a body blow with Jasprit Bumrah in danger to be ruled out due to injury.

Bumrah was earlier ruled out of the Asia Cup due to a back injury and made his comeback in the recently culminated T20I series against Australia. But he again missed the first match of the ongoing T20I series against South Africa due to back pain. There are speculations that India’s pace-spearhead has been ruled out of the T20 extravaganza in Australia.

Here are three players who can fill Jasprit Bumrah’s shoes in T20 World Cup 2022:

3. Avesh Khan

Avesh Khan has set the IPL stage on fire with his stellar bowling displays. In the last two seasons, he has taken a total of 42 wickets in 29 matches at an economy of 8.05, which is sensational given he bowls a lot at the death.

The speedster broke into the Indian T20 setup on back his incredible IPL performances and was given a consistent run in the build-up to the marquee tournament. The Indore-born took 13 wickets in the 14 matches he featured for the Men in Blue.

Though Avesh conceded runs at a slightly higher economy rate of 9.10, he has shown that he can bowl at all phases of the innings and has many variations up his sleeve. The speedster is an ever-improving bowler and his inclusion gives skipper Rohit Sharma flexibility to maneuver his bowlers on the field.
