The T20 World Cup 2022 is all set to commence on October 16 with the group stages and then action will move towards the Super 12 round from October 22. This will be the first time the T20 carnival will take place in Australia and the hosts will walk into the tournament as the defending champions.
All the top-ranked teams are packed with match-winners who have shown their mettle in the international arena. On the bowling front, the sides have some proven performers who can wreak havoc with the ball. Let us look at the players who can be the highest wicket-taker for their respective teams at the global event
8. Bangladesh - Mustafizur Rahman
Mustafizur Rahman has been a giant of a player in the T20 circuit. He has played a total of 200 T20 matches and taken 256 wickets at an economy of 7.35. The left-arm pacer has numerous variations up his sleeve and has proven to be a tricky customer to deal with, especially in the death overs.
The 27-year-old will be leading Bangladesh’s pace attack at the T20 extravaganza in Australia. Mustafizur has played 73 T20Is and bagged 94 wickets at an economy of 7.79. Though he has not been at his best of late, he has all the experience in the world to thrive in the biggest of stages.
Mustafizur will be entrusted to bowl the toughest overs of the game when the batters will try to take him on. This is where he can be dangerous with his deceptive slower balls and get amongst the wickets. The Fizz took eight wickets in seven games at the last year’s World Cup and can very well improve his numbers in pacer's paradise Australia.
