T20 World Cup 2022: Team-wise youngest player in the tournament
Many talented youngsters would be making their World Cup debut in the marquee tournament in Australia.
4. Tim David (AUS) | DOB - March 16, 1996
Tim David’s stocks have seen a meteoric rise in the last couple of years. He has become on of the most sought-after finishers in the world in the T20 circuit. This is evident from the fact that the most successful IPL franchise Mumbai Indians spent a whooping 8.25 crore at the 2022 IPL Auction for the Singapore-born and he did not disappoint either.
In this year’s IPL, David in nine outings smashed 187 runs at a sensational strike rate of 210.11. Before signing for Australia, he played 14 T20Is for Singapore and aggregated 558 runs at a strike rate of 158.52. The 26-year-old is a genuine power-hitter and is renowned to hit huge sixes.
Apart from his finishing prowess, David is quite handy with his off-spin and gives Australia an extra option with the ball. The T20 giant can well be the X-factor for Aaron Finch & Co. coming into the T20 World Cup.
