2. Tim Paine’s scathing allegations

Former red-ball skipper of Australia, Tim Paine, rocked the cricketing world yet again through his book by charging the South African team of ball tampering in the fourth Test match played between Australia and South Africa at the Wanderers Stadium, Johannesburg in 2018 after Australia got hit by the infamous sandpapergate. Paine also wrote that the match broadcasters were also complicit in the Proteas’ wrongdoing by hiding the footage of tampering. 

Going further, he also accused Cricket Australia (CA) of betraying him after the sexting scandal. Paine, who had decided to step down as the Australian Test captain saying “I believe that it is the right decision for me to stand down as captain, effective immediately,” made a lot of startling comments. The 37-year-old cricketer has claimed that if he had not relinquished the captaincy, Cricket Australia would’ve sacked him. 

In his autobiography “The Price Paid” he also alleged that Cricket Australia (CA) abandoned him and made the matter look as if he had sexually harassed someone. He also wrote that CA didn’t handle the matter the way it was supposed to otherwise he would have continued as captain.
