3. Start of a new cycle after biggest mega auction in IPL history 

The IPL 2025 mega auction started with some big buys made after the retention. Some teams had a lot of cash in their purse and three players broke the 20 cr barrier. This is the first time this has happened in the auction which has also led to some significant changes within the teams as well. 

Over 600 crore was spent in this auction which is the most money spent out of all the other editions. The three expensive players in the auction are Rishabh Pant (27 cr), Shreyas Iyer (26.75 cr) and Venkatesh Iyer (23.75 cr). What makes it iconic is that all of them are Indian players and will have a lot of high expectations in the tournament.
