Mohammad Nabi will be essential for Afghanistan’s campaign in the 2023 World Cup. With the ball, he will bolster the spin department along with Rashid Khan and Mujeeb-Ur-Rahman, while with the bat, he will support the team as a finisher. His records are superb as a lower-middle-order batter.

There are a few instances to recount when Nabi displayed his batting mettle and took his team home. Recently, he played an exceptional 65-run knock from 32 deliveries against Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2023. In the important game, the Afghan team was required to chase 292 under 38 overs to survive in the competition and Nabi showed a fighting spirit with his bat.

Sri Lanka held their nerves and went back to the pavilion with a two-run win in the match but Nabi’s batting efforts were admired among cricket fans. Nabi’s batting number six, the veteran has scored 1120 runs in 54 ODIs at a strike rate of 85.82. The 38-year-old will strive to deliver his best to the Afghan team in his last World Cup appearance.
