WPL 2023: 5 players who can be Player of the Tournament
Certain gun players could create a lot of buzz with their performances in WPL 2023
3. Smriti Mandhana
Smriti Mandhana is one of those players who has made heads turn every time she has stepped into the cricket field. The ace batter has left the world in awe of her glorious stroke play and put opposition bowlers under the pump. She has featured in 77 ODIs and aggregated 3073 runs at a strike rate of 83.91.
Talking about the shortest format, Mandhana has made 116 appearances for her national side and has scored 2802 runs at a strike rate of 123.87. The southpaw is the lynchpin of the Indian batting line-ups across formats and Royal Challengers Bangalore broke their bank to sign her at the WPL auction, paying a whopping sum of INR 3.4 crore for the Indian batter.
Mandhana displayed her class in the recently culminated T20 extravaganza in South Africa and piled on 151 runs in four games at a strike rate of 138.53. As the 26-year-old is in good nick, it would not be a surprise if she sets the ongoing edition of the Women’s Premier League on fire with her batting displays and propels RCB to the top of the WPL points table.
