Aaqib Javed to continue as Pakistan's head coach for New Zealand series
"The PCB meanwhile has started the process of finding a new head coach for the national team and due process would be followed,” Javed said.
The Pakistan team has been facing a lot of flak after their disappointing performances in the Champions Trophy where they failed to win a single game during the tournament. There are already a lot of fans and experts requesting changes within the management after the ICC event which was hosted by them.
Aaqib Javed was acted as the interim head coach for the Men in Green for the 50-over tournament. There were speculations that the former player and national selector would be removed right after the tournament, but he seems to have been continued by PCB for the upcoming New Zealand series. Javed himself has revealed that he will be vacating the seat shortly after the white-ball series, as PCB is already on the lookout for a new person to take charge.
“The PCB meanwhile has started the process of finding a new head coach for the national team and due process would be followed,” Javed was quoted as saying by NDTV Sports.
Big changes made by PCB
Though Javed will still remain in charge until the board finds a replacement, there have been some changes made where they have brought in legendary batter Mohammad Yousuf as the batting coach for the side. The leadership roles within the T20I side have also been updated. Salman Ali Agha has been named as the skipper for the shortest format, while Shadab Khan will act as his deputy for the series.
