Indian cricketer Prithvi Shaw recently made the headlines when a group of fans attacked him outside a hotel. The cricketer refused to get a picture clicked with Sapna Gill, a social media influencer, which was the reason behind the shocking incident. But as per recent developments, all the main accused have been sent to judicial custody by the Mumbai police for fourteen days.

Prithvi Shaw and his friends were attacked on the night of February 15, 2023 by a group of fans, which included Sapna, a social media influencer, and three other men. Shaw was attacked by the group after they were asked to leave the hotel premises, where the cricketer had gone with his friends for dinner.

When Shaw and his friend left the hotel following their dinner, the group was waiting outside with baseball bats as Shaw's denial for a picturehad infuriated them. The accused used baseball bats to damage the front and rear windows of the BMW that belonged to Prithvi's friend.

The prime accused, Sapna Gill, alongwith seven of her acquaintances, was charged by Oshiwara Police under various sections of the Indian Penal Code (143, 148, 149, 384, 437, 504, 506).

It is to be informed that the 14-day judicial custody commenced on Monday, February 20, after the conclusion of the police custody. The main complainant from Prithvi's side against the accused was his friend Ashish Surendra Yadav. Surprisingly enough, during the court proceedings, Sapna Gill was defiant enough to deny each and every allegation levied against her.

On the contrary, she counter-accused Prithvi Shaw of physically assaulting her and even trying to hit her with a baseball bat. She even went on to state that the baseball bats were in fact being carried by Prithvi and and his friends to launch an assault on the accused and her group.

During India's home series against New Zealand, Prithvi Shaw took a break from professional cricket. In January, Shaw was called up to the T20I squad for a three-match home series against the BlackCaps. The Mumbai starter, however, was not given a chance to join the starting XI and was benched throughout the series.
