Arshdeep Singh, Alex Hales among big winners in latest T20I rankings after conclusion of T20 World Cup 2022
Ben Stokes significantly improved his ranking following the match-winning knock in the finals.
After the successful conclusion of the ICC T20 World Cup 2022 Down Under, certain players have come big and have received major uptick in their T20I rankings. The marquee event held in Australia saw quite a few extraordinary performances by players who almost single-handedly tilted the match toward their team’s favour.
Moreover, till the very end of the competition, fans across the world got to witness many exciting clashes, filled with drama, high-octane bowling performances, sensational batting displays, and some major upsets.
As far as the performances are concerned, English opener Alex Hales, who was sensational with his impressive display with the willow amassed 212 runs at a strike rate greater than 147. Being a standout performer for the Three Lions, the flamboyant right-hander made the biggest move on the T20I batter rankings throughout the tournament. Hales improved his rankings to a massive 94 spots to close in the gap with the top 10 list as he now stands at no. 12. India all-rounder Hardik Pandya moved up from the 71st spot to the 56th spot following some terrific outings during the event.

On the other hand, Pandya’s compatriot Arshdeep Singh moved to a whopping 32 spots from 54th to 22nd spot as he racked up 10 wickets in the event. Whereas player of the tournament Sam Curran jumped 11 spots on the T20I list of bowlers courtesy of his 13 scalps. Pakistan pace spearhead Shaheen Afridi received an uptick in his rankings with a jump from the 39th spot to the 18th.
In the list of all-rounders, Sri Lanka spinner Dhananjaya de Silva and English star player Ben Stokes were the two biggest gainers on the list. The Lankan Lions player moved 70 places to 30th spot overall having scored 177 runs with six wickets to his name whereas Stokes jumped 59 places to 41st spot in the charts following his match-winning knock against Pakistan in the summit clash.
